V vsakem primeru pa pusti Villo pri miru in nehaj sanjati. Edina Villa, s katero bomo imeli kaj opravka, bo Aston Villa. Bliža se vrhunec naših letošnjih nakupov. Ko (pre)skeširamo še enega veznjaka, bo "šparovček" popolnoma prazen, kisle kumarice pa ne bodo niti več kisle...
Vir: Daily PostAlthough Liverpool and Aston Villa have still to reach a fee over Gareth Barry’s proposed move to Anfield, the cancellation of the Midlanders’ skipper’s testimonial match suggests that the England midfielder’s days at Villa Park are numbered.

kot kaže je res treba pisati...
One of the new manager's first responsibilities will be to sort out David Bentley's future at Blackburn after the midfielder said he wanted to leave the club.
Liverpool, Tottenham, Manchester City and Aston Villa are leading the chase for the £15m-rated England international.
"Mark Hughes and I had a meeting with David before the end of the season and he said he wanted to test himself at a higher level," said Williams

Baje Gillette daje jutri en intervju (za isto radijsko postajo kot zadnjič)Foreign owners to appear before Parliament
Wednesday, 18 June 2008
LONDON (AP) - Liverpool’s feuding American owners have been invited to appear before a British parliamentary inquiry.
Co-owners Tom Hicks and George Gillett Jr., along with Manchester City’s Thaksin Shinawatra, have been asked to appear before the All Party Parliamentary Football Group. The British lawmakers are investigating problems involving how English Premier League teams are being run, particularly fans’ concerns over foreign owners and their increasing influence.
Hicks and Gillett could use one of the hearings in the fall to air their grievances with each other since taking over Liverpool last year.
Liverpool goalkeeper Pepe Reina echoed fans’ concerns Tuesday about the club’s financial situation, including substantial debts.
“Things aren’t especially good (economically),” Reina said at Spain’s training camp at the European Championship. “You hope that everything comes into order (off the field), but there is little to say since we can do little.”
Accounts released earlier this month showed that the American owners, who gained control of Liverpool in March 2007, had net losses of $67 million by July 31, 2007. The team’s chief executive Rick Parry, whose resignation was demanded by Hicks in defiance of Gillett, also was invited to testify.
Alan Keen, the inquiry’s chairman, is concerned that the feud has overshadowed the team on the field.
Thaksin had a smooth first year in charge at Manchester City until removing manager Sven-Goran Eriksson earlier this month in what he admitted was a “ruthless” action after only one season. The club finished ninth in the League.
Thaksin, who was accused of human rights abuses before being ousted as Thai prime minister, would be subjected to questions relating to the Premier League’s “fit and proper person” stipulation.
While Hicks, Gillett and Thaksin have been the source of fans’ fury, Aston Villa fans have embraced Randy Lerner, who also owns the Cleveland Browns and has been invited to tell his success story.
The 13 legislators and peers also want Inter Milan coach Jose Mourinho to discuss his relationship with Chelsea owner Roman Abramovich. Mourinho left Chelsea last September after his relationship with the Russian billionaire deteriorated.
FIFA president Sepp Blatter and his UEFA counterpart Michel Platini have also received invitations.

Otišo nam drug....JOHN ARNE RIISE’S Liverpool career finally came to an end last night when Roma confirmed his signing.
The Norwegian left-back was in Italy for talks yesterday and agreed personal terms to complete the move on a four-year deal worth £2.2million.
Liverpool had looked set to recoup the £4.6m they paid Monaco for him in 2001 but the clubs reached a compromise on the player’s valuation, that was revealed as just short of £4m by the Italian club.
A Roma statement said: “AS Roma announce they have reached an agreement with Liverpool Football Club for the acquisition of the sporting rights of the player John Arne Riise with effect from July 1 2008.”
The departure of Riise, 27, had been inevitable since the second half of last season when a loss of form saw him lose his place to Fabio Aurelio.
And Rafael Benitez’s pursuit of Andrea Dossena, whose arrival from Udinese is imminent, also indicated that Riise’s days were numbered.
The Liverpool manager has been hoping for the right price for the player and will use the money to fund summer squad strengthening – but he needs to see more moves materialise that will boost his transfer kitty.
No fee has yet been agreed for Xabi Alonso as Juventus ponder their offer for the midfielder, and that saga won’t be resolved before the end of Spain’s involvement in Euro 2008.
Portsmouth are still weighing up an offer for Peter Crouch but Liverpool will expect in the region of £10m for the England international striker.
They will also listen to offers for Scott Carson following his return from a season’s loan at Aston Villa – whose holding out for at least £18m for Gareth Barry is central to Benitez’s desire to offload his players at the right price.
Carson’s need for first team football is likely to lead to Benitez also having to search for a reliable second-choice goalkeeper to back up Pepe Reina.
Maik Taylor was one target but the Northern Ireland international revealed why he snubbed Anfield to sign a new contract with relegated Birmingham City.
“With an offer on the table from the club, it was always going to be the case that I would stay really,” Taylor said.
“It was flattering that Liverpool showed a lot of interest and of course I gave it serious consideration.
“Liverpool could offer the Champions League and everything else, but it would have been a situation as a number two and a year’s contract as well.
“Scott Carson has gone back there now as well. There was talk of him going to Villa after his loan, but that has not materialised.
“I still have a big desire to play and, as long as I keep my form and fitness, that’s more likely here.”
Pa srečno
hvala za united gol....o cfc pa nebi sedaj....

Hamburg super.... Olič nicht super... VDV sehr super.....
James Milner's switch to Liverpool has moved a step closer with Newcastle interested in a player-plus-cash deal for the England Under-21 midfielder.
Newcastle are reluctant to sell the 22-year-old this summer but are keen on an exchange deal worth £7m plus Danny Guthrie.
OoooOooOo pokal UEFA......

Ever since the Reds’ interest in the Villa captain was made public, boss Martin O’Neill has insisted he will not deal at anything less than £18m.
But with Liverpool constantly stressing that figure is over-priced, and now angrily threatening to pull out of negotiations and switch their attentions elsewhere, O’Neill is prepared to listen to cash plus player deals.
The problem, however, is that Riise was O’Neill’s preferred choice of Liverpool’s available talent, but he has now completed his move to Serie A in a deal initially worth £4m, rising to £4.5m.
Scott Carson may now become a makeweight in a transfer saga which has become frustrating for all parties.
